Upgrading to OpenSolaris 2009.06 snv_111 X86 has so far alleviated the sporadic reboots. but I still need to disable audiohd to inhibit the white noise. Xorg -configure enabled radeonhd (though scrolling in Firefox is choppy). Altogether, greater progress though.
