Hi, I try to connect my Zaurus Cl760 via Ethernet-over-USB to my OpenSolaris box -- but without success until now:
The messages in /var/adm/messages when I physically connect the Zaurus are: Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p usba: [ID 912658 kern.info] USB 2.0 device (usb525,a4a2) operating at full speed (USB 1.x) on USB 1.10 root hub: communications at 2, usb_mid2 at bus address 2 Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p usba: [ID 349649 kern.info] Linux 2.6.24/pxa2xx_udc RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p genunix: [ID 936769 kern.info] usb_mid2 is /pci at 0,0/pci17aa,20aa at 1d/communications at 2 Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p genunix: [ID 408114 kern.info] /pci at 0,0/pci17aa,20aa at 1d/communications at 2 (usb_mid2) online Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p usba: [ID 349649 kern.info] usba: no driver found for interface 1 (nodename: 'data') of Linux 2.6.24/pxa2xx_udc RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p usba: [ID 723738 kern.info] /pci at 0,0/pci17aa,20aa at 1d/communications at 2 (usb_mid2): can't support ugen for multiple configurations devices that have attached child interface drivers Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p asy: [ID 267298 kern.notice] asy0: UART @ 3f8 scratch register: expected 0x5a, got 0xff Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p asy: [ID 702181 kern.notice] Cannot identify UART chip at 3f8 Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p usba: [ID 912658 kern.info] USB 2.0 interface (usbif525,a4a2.config2.0) operating at full speed (USB 1.x) on USB 1.10 root hub: modem at 0,2, usbsacm1 at bus address 2 Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p usba: [ID 349649 kern.info] Linux 2.6.24/pxa2xx_udc RNDIS/Ethernet Gadget Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p genunix: [ID 936769 kern.info] usbsacm1 is /pci at 0,0/pci17aa,20aa at 1d/communications at 2/modem at 0,2 Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p genunix: [ID 408114 kern.info] /pci at 0,0/pci17aa,20aa at 1d/communications at 2/modem at 0,2 (usbsacm1) online Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p usba: [ID 723738 kern.info] /pci at 0,0/pci17aa,20aa at 1d/communications at 2 (usb_mid2): can't support ugen for multiple configurations devices that have attached child interface drivers Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p pcplusmp: [ID 805372 kern.info] pcplusmp: ide (ata) instance 1 irq 0xf vector 0x44 ioapic 0x1 intin 0xf is bound to cpu 1 Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p asy: [ID 267298 kern.notice] asy0: UART @ 3f8 scratch register: expected 0x5a, got 0xff Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p asy: [ID 702181 kern.notice] Cannot identify UART chip at 3f8 Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p usba: [ID 723738 kern.info] /pci at 0,0/pci17aa,20aa at 1d/communications at 2 (usb_mid2): can't support ugen for multiple configurations devices that have attached child interface drivers Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p pcplusmp: [ID 805372 kern.info] pcplusmp: ide (ata) instance 1 irq 0xf vector 0x44 ioapic 0x1 intin 0xf is bound to cpu 0 Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p usba: [ID 723738 kern.info] /pci at 0,0/pci17aa,20aa at 1d/communications at 2 (usb_mid2): can't support ugen for multiple configurations devices that have attached child interface drivers Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p last message repeated 3 times Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p asy: [ID 267298 kern.notice] asy0: UART @ 3f8 scratch register: expected 0x5a, got 0xff Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p asy: [ID 702181 kern.notice] Cannot identify UART chip at 3f8 Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p usba: [ID 723738 kern.info] /pci at 0,0/pci17aa,20aa at 1d/communications at 2 (usb_mid2): can't support ugen for multiple configurations devices that have attached child interface drivers Apr 30 19:30:01 t61p pcplusmp: [ID 805372 kern.info] pcplusmp: ide (ata) instance 1 irq 0xf vector 0x44 ioapic 0x1 intin 0xf is bound to cpu 1 Apr 30 19:30:03 t61p usba: [ID 723738 kern.info] /pci at 0,0/pci17aa,20aa at 1d/communications at 2 (usb_mid2): can't support ugen for multiple configurations devices that have attached child interface drivers Looking on the man page for usb_mid (http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/816-5177/usb-mid-7d?a=view) I read Can't support ugen for multiple configuration devices that have attached child interface drivers. means No ugen interface is available and libusb(3LIB) cannot work with this device. So looks to me like there is no driver for this device currenlty installed. So question is: Does a driver for Ethernet-over-USB already exists for Solaris? I'm currently using the dev tree from OpenSolaris (06/2009, snv111) For information I've attached the prtconf output while the Zaurus is connected and, if this helps; these are the Vendor ID and Product ID reported by VirtualBox for the Zaurus: Vendor ID 0525 Product A4A2 Revison 0203 regards Bernd -- Bernd Schemmer, Frankfurt am Main, Germany http://home.arcor.de/bnsmb/index.html M s temprano que tarde el mundo cambiar .
