Pkg being so network entangled does not yet have an on-disk package so your are stuck. Though this may change in future. For now you can get pre-compiled Masayuki-san's driver bundle in SVR4 package format from here: http://blogs.sun.com/moinakg/entry/scorched_3d_and_masayuki_san To my understanding pkg.opensolaris.org is not really a community maintained software repo. The packages here are SUN supported and there is quite a bit of process in getting software there including ARC and legal processes. It takes time. There are folks in SUN working on getting Masayuki-san's drivers into OpenSolaris.
