I've recently noticed the following problem: on several SPARC machines
which have been live upgraded regularly since before Solaris 10 using the
SX:CE releases, on the transition to newboot sparc, the failsafe archive
didn't get installed, which is a major problem in recovery scenarios. The
only machine which has /platform/sun4u/failsafe is a Sun Fire V880 which
was freshly installed with snv_81. Unfortunately, this archive didn't get
updated ever since (the machine is at snv_93 currently), and I have found
no documented way of doing so.
Any advice on how to handle this?
I couldn't file this bug via bugs.opensolaris.org since liveupgrade isn't
there.
