Yes.  This is phase 0 (let's say) of a multi-phase plan.  ZFS root
support is coming.  As is more control, though how much is probably
still up for discussion.  One of the goals of the new installer is to
simplify installation.  Developers in particular shouldn't have to
figure out how to parition/slice a disk for example.

In the meantime, you can always use the Solaris Express grub option
to get the old installers that have the usual knobs and such :-)
