I've a problem with OpenSolaris installation on a portable device. My idea was to clone my disk with OpenSolaris on a portable device (USB), and then boot off of the USB disk. My first step was to use the command "dd" to clone the system. All was ok. Then, I rebooted the system off of the USB disk (throught the BIOS). Apparently, "something" was loaded from the USB disk, but the system actually booted was that installed on the internal disk. Using the following guide: http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/content/submitted/boot_usb_flash.jsp I've modified the miniroot of the system specified that the device to take was the USB disk (in my case /dev/rdsk/c3t0d0 ). At the reboot the system halts when try to mount the root.
Someone can help me in these situation? Thanks. This message posted from opensolaris.org
