Glynn: procedurally, this should really go to install-discuss, though I 
realize that the designated core contributors (this set of people) are 
the ones who need to reach consensus.  Accordingly, I've cc'ed this

My point of view is that we should have a fairly low bar to sponsoring 
projects; there's plenty in the record already about what Indiana wishes 
to be to make that level of decision[1].  And I can say that my 
discussion last week with Ian showed very strong alignment with the 
goals of other projects we have already established in this community; I 
would expect Indiana to be a distributor of those projects' work.  So 
let's sponsor the project and let it get off the ground (and off 
opensolaris-discuss ;-).  The details can be fleshed out there, or in 
whatever meetings anyone wishes to set up with Glynn.
