[install-discuss] installation failure on Dell Inspiron e1505

I'm trying to install Solaris express build 46 on a Dell Inspiron e1505.  I've 
set up the partitions on the hard drive, but during the install the installer 
reports i have a malformed mbr.  I believe that it's not recognizing my SATA 
controller.  When I boot in single user mode, and use the format command, it 
says that my that the device was not recognized.  Has anyone else had similar 
problems or know how I could go about resolving this?
