The box is an NFORCE 4 socket 939 unit. I have installed a SATA 150 drive in the SATA II 300 SATA I/F part of the NFORCE4. It also has a Nvidia 6500 Pci-Express X16 graphics adapter. So how is this an Install issue ? I am useing the machine now so its possible to circumvent the installtions problems. When I realised that the X2100 server uses the NFORCE4 NGE0 ethernet and builtin SATA i/F I wanted to try on a consumer PC machine. The Nevada Interactive installer fails to Partition and Format the SATA diskdrive. However I was able to open a Terminal window while booted from the Install DVD and manually FDISk and Format and NEWFS the filesystems on the SATA disk. Next time i Booted from the DVD I ran a Console install session and selected to load the then pre-existing VTOC so that all the partitioning was already complete. At this point the installer could continue.
