I suffered from the same problem and was able to come around it by putting libdbus*.so into /usr/lib of the miniroots.
As per the SXCE license terms, would I be allowed to upload the fixed miniroot files (not the whole DVD) somewhere for others to use? I am afraid not... *Sigh* Normally I would have used the text installer, but I tried to install a heavily customized subset of packages and package clusters and that's much easier in the graphical installer.
