I just finished installing b115 with only "Core System Support" (SUNWCreq) on an intel based server.
The system came up cleanly but only had one entry in the grub menu and the file "/boot/amd64/x86.miniroot-safe" was missing. Install log is shown below. Note the copy failure. Methinks the problem stems from the fact that SUNWxvmr is not part of SUNWCreq. SUNWxvmr is the only package responsible for creating the directory "/boot/amd64". i.e. if SUNWxvmr is not installed, "/boot/amd64" won't get created, and the installation of x86.miniroot-safe will fail. ################################################# # Installing boot information # - Installing boot blocks (c1t0d0) # - Installing boot blocks (/dev/rdsk/c1t0d0s0) # cp: cannot create /a/boot/amd64/x86.miniroot-safe: No such file or directory # bootadm: not using biosdev command for disk: /dev/dsk/c1t0d0s0. # bootadm: cannot get (hd?,?,?) for menu. menu not on bootdisk: /dev/rdsk/c1t0d0s0 # Creating boot_archive for /a # updating /a/platform/i86pc/amd64/boot_archive # updating /a/platform/i86pc/boot_archive #################################################### -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
