For networking devices that the system supports, the system will
configure the interface automatically.  There's nothing you need to do
to configure it.

Did you run the driver testing tool on the live CD before installing
OpenSolaris?  It should have told you what parts of your system were
supported.

The driver for Via Rhine adapters in OpenSolaris is "vr".  It
currently binds to several such adapters, but I think the driver
integrated into build 115 (CR 6770327).  Since OpenSolaris 2009.06 is
based on build 111, you don't have that driver.

While waiting for build 115 to show up on the pkg servers, you might
use the 'vfe' driver here:

(I've never used it; I don't know whether it works in build 111.)
