The slower OS is (obviously?) Windows Vista. Although, I don't like Windows OS, the Microsoft Office is really good in my opinion. And sometimes you are forced to use it - e.g.: many technical paper formats are specified in ref. to Microsoft Office.. Anyway...
I may not make it a dual boot system with linux, but will use it along with Windows.. :) Sounds like good weekend activity. I have another linux box, so I will post some f/b after few weeks..
