Edit /rpool/boot/grub/menu.lst and remove the following lines from the 
current BE:

   splashimage /boot/solaris.xpm
   foreground d25f00
   background 115d93

Also delete
   ,console=graphics
from the kernel$ line

After that, all BEs created from the current one will be 'text boot'
