We ran into a problem with the graphics cards on some systems that exhibited this behavior. Check http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=1069, and see if it correlates with what is on your system. If so, there is information about a fix for this that has gone back. -- Ginnie
