At the moment (ie for 0907 and 0108 of Solaris Express Developer Edition) if you don't choose the first grub option (Solaris Express Developer Edition) and instead choose the second, you'll get the old style installer like what is in Solaris 10 update 4. At some point, the expectation is to replace that code completely with solutions from this community. The first such solution is the 'simple' installer you've already seen. And yes, this was done intentionally. That said, we're not finished yet. There are plans for a more 'expert' mode installer/installation. No ETA on that, but we'll get there (we're closer to the beginning than the end). Cheers, Glenn
