Hello, I'm having the same problem with not being able to find / install a driver for my Adaptec 2940U2W SCSI card on a newly installed OpenSolaris 2008.05 system.
This thread at least tells me *why* I'm having so much trouble... but is there any way in the meantime (between now and the availability of the encumbered repository) to find / manually download / beg-borrow-steal (well, not steal, I guess) a copy of the appropriate package? I'm installing on a low-end, spare, PoS, surplused Dell workstation with a retired Compaq array -- because this is a investigative, sideline project not yet officially sanctioned by my office. I want to try out OS, and more particularly ZFS, but can't likely manage to get a more fully supported SCSI controller in the near future. -- In fact, I was (*very*) lucky to even find this SCSI card (and other hardware) that wasn't being used currently, and hadn't yet been scheduled to be retasked for anything as far as my boss knew. So... Can I get a copy of the appropriate driver / pkg somewhere that is good for me to test with, even though it's not in an official repository yet?
