As the need arises. I can't pretend we know the complete set of answers to all the uses everyone has for scripting now, but the common cases will be handled by explicit actions, such as those for users, roles, drivers, and I'm sure more that we'll run into. Things like mkfontdir are already migrating towards services in SMF. And the system should be able to handle new installation scenarios, though undoubtedly it will need hints from packagers in some cases. We hope that files, services, and other classes of installable objects will become more self-descriptive over time, to allow the packaging system to infer more about what belongs where. Danek
