Dunno about that.  In terms of actual votes, have you seen anyone say
anything other than "+1" to the proposal?  I haven't.

Given the rotten state of packaging and patching, and relatively large
number of people who've had encounters with it, I think it would be
surprising if nobody had opinions about how it ought to be solved.

In any event, what I was saying was that, in my experience, it's
harder to attract people to a project that's advertising a set of
already-made decisions, even if those are known to be good answers,
than it is to attract people to a less-fixed project.  Perhaps your
experience may differ here, but I don't think it's necessary to accuse
those commenting on this proposal of "providing massive stop energy"
... whatever it is that might mean.
