Usually we do this sort of testing with network installs, so you'd run setup_install_server to transform the CD/DVD into a netinstall directory and then you can Otherwise, you have to go to the trouble of copying the CD hierarchy to disk, modifying it, and then regenerating the ISO image with an appropriate mkisofs incantation and then burning it to CD. There's a blueprint on www.sun.com for building a "Customized Boot CD" that sort of outlines this, although it's not been updated to be correct for GRUB-based booting on x86. Dave
