amazing and a wonderful thing! But two disks would be OK too...

Yes, it would. My least favorite alternative, but having it available
would make things a bit less scary.

It makes sense not to do a SPARC live CD. Anyone wanting to run Open
Solaris on SPARC can always find a way :-). IMO not having some way to
do a rescue is a bit of a problem unless you have more than one
machine, likely true for most if not all SPARC users. I'll keep a
bootable disk on a shelf until one of these solutions becomes available...
