Jonathan,

I have a couple questions for you. What OpenSolaris build were you
attempting to install? Did you verify the checksums for the images?
Although, the ISO is likely okay because you were able to boot up the cd
on the internal ide drive. Have you been able to reproduce this on any
other systems?

If the build you attempted to install was 2009.06 or a previous build,
than please try this again with the latest build:
        http://genunix.org/distributions/indiana/osol-1002-124-x86.usb
Quite a few fixes have been putback to the USB code since June, so I
would like to verify that your problem has not already been fixed.

If you still see this problem with build 124, would you please try
booting into OpenSolaris using the internal cd-drive and running:
"prtconf -v|grep usb" What output do you see? Are all of your usb ports
listed? Also, could you check to see in the LiveCd environment that when
you insert one of the usb sticks containing an OpenSolaris USB image
that the filesystem is automounted and appears under /media.

thanks,
Moriah
