As for wanboot, (or the lack thereofin your case), you can work-around that
by using SXCE sparc media as detailed here:
http://www.sun.com/bigadmin/content/submitted/wanboot_from_disk.html and
here:
http://sstallion.blogspot.com/2009/07/installing-opensolaris-200906-on-sparc.htmland
setup the install server on x86 to serve the sparc client.
Another (the long way round), alternative is to install SXCE and
subsequently migrate to OpenSolaris (I recently migrated a couple of e220r
boxen to OpenSolaris .. but it would be even easier with a new install) as
blogged here:

Either process is somewhat lengthy but doable.
