I'm getting the same problem with:

ASUS M3A78-CM
Athlon II 240e
4GB Crucial ECC DDR2

I've tried turning off APIC in the BIOS, and also tried booting the live CD
with -B acpi-user-options=2 which is supposed to turn it off, but it still
reports these APIC errors. I've tried the 2009.06 release and also the 128a
development version from genunix.org.

The BIOS reports the CPU as an unknown processor, so I'm wondering if a BIOS
upgrade might help. However, ubuntu works fine with the current version,
which makes me doubt that it would make any difference.

Anyone else had this problem and managed to cure it?
