I've been trying to install 2009.06 from the live CD (so I can then upgrade to 2010.02) on a brand new Ultra 27, but it fails saying that it did not install properly.
The installation log contains this failure: <ICT Dec 17 05:20:53> shell cmd (bootadm update-menu -R /a -Z -o /dev/rdsk/c7t1d0s0 2>&1) returned status 256 <ICT_E Dec 17 05:20:53> Adding failsafe menu with command: bootadm update-menu -R /a -Z -o /dev/rdsk/c7t1d0s0 2>&1 failed. exit status=256 <ICT_E Dec 17 05:20:53> bootadm_update_menu output: bootadm: fstyp -a on device /dev/rdsk/c7t1d0s0 failed <ICT_E Dec 17 05:20:53> bootadm_update_menu output: bootadm: failed to get pool for device: /dev/rdsk/c7t1d0s0 <ICT_E Dec 17 05:20:53> bootadm_update_menu output: bootadm: fstyp -a on device /dev/rdsk/c7t1d0s0 failed <ICT_E Dec 17 05:20:53> bootadm_update_menu output: bootadm: failed to get pool name from /dev/rdsk/c7t1d0s0 <ICT_E Dec 17 05:20:53> bootadm_update_menu output: bootadm: failed to create GRUB boot signature for device: /dev/rdsk/c7t1d0s0 <ICT_E Dec 17 05:20:53> bootadm_update_menu output: bootadm: failed to get grubsign for root: /a, device /dev/rdsk/c7t1d0s0 <ICT_E Dec 17 05:20:53> Failure. Returning: ICT_ADD_FAILSAFE_MENU_FAILED Yet if I manually do a fstyp -a on /dev/rdsk/c7t1d0s0, it works just fine. Any ideas? Thanks, William Kucharski -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
