Is it possible to install OpenSolaris on a system in only text mode? I've been asked to install OpenSolaris on a SPARC Sunfire 280R (i know its not officialy supported) but the system doesn't have a display card in it so everything is being done over the serial port.
I can get it booted from the CD and can sign in as either Jack or Root but thats it. Everywhere I look I can't find any info in doing a text install / serial install as everything points to a gui. Any ideas or do I have to try Solaris 10 as I think you can do a console (serial) install only from that? Thx! -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
