I downloaded a copy of the image used for USB devices, wrote that onto
an external USB drive (20G) and booted that, so whichever installer
comes with that.
I no longer have the install log handy, but effectively what happens
is that because "rpool" is there from a prior installation, creation
of the ZFS pool "rpool" fails.
If the installer is kicked off again right after successful installation
(without reboot), it is expected to fail, since it detects that the
installation
just took place.
However, if system is rebooted between two installations, the installer
wipes out previously installed rpool.
