Hello,

I am tried several attempts to get from Solaris 111b to 144 with
no success...

Does anyone have a working procedure to make the upgrade
successfully?

Hello,

AFAIK, you need build 137 or later to compile build 144 and later.

To obtain build 145, for example, I did this:

        1) Installed build 134 from the development 2010.03 live CD.
        2) Installed all the necessary ON build tools.
        3) Compiled build 143 and installed it with onu.
        4) Rebooted to the build 143 and repeated (3) for build 145.

Ad (2): This includes multiple steps:

        * Install and/or download & extract all the development packages, as
listed in this howto: http://insanum.com/blog/2010/06/08/how-to-build-opensolaris
        * Install all the packages mentioned here:
http://mail.opensolaris.org/pipermail/on-discuss/2010-June/001932.html
        * Compile the latest pkg bits and overwrite them, just as the message
linked above says.
        * Install perl 5.10 packages, as mentioned here:
http://mail.opensolaris.org/pipermail/on-discuss/2010-June/001924.html

In fact I'm writing this just FTR, since people inside Oracle certainly have an
internal IPS repository with all the packages. ;-)
