I have no problem creating the folder in the pop-up.   My concern is that what I see on the main page is just
a list of files.  No indication of any folders.   Then the next time you upload a file and want to associate it with
similar files by putting it the same folder, you need to navigate around in the popup.   It would be much
better to see the folder structure in the main page - just like the old file manager or the Codeva file manager.
So what I want to know Is if the showing of folders in the main page can be turned on somehow.

I like the functionality of the Codeva filemanager - problem is it does not have indexing/searching.

Hi Georges,

Do you mean you can not create a new folder in the Jahia engine (the jahia edition pop-up)?
Have you correctly clicked on [Operations] at the directory level? e.g:
"Current directory : ROOT / shared [Operations] "

Else have you tried to mount a web folder (under Windows) or to access to your Jahia file repository through a WebDAV client (e.g. www.webdrive.com). Tha address is usually something like: http://localhost:8080/jahia/webdav/shared . Then you should be able to add new folders directly from your windows file explorer.

Which version of Jahia are you using?

Finally the (old) Jahia file manager webapp allows you to upload files within the context of the webapp. Files are not stored in th Jahia file repository. The new (but still beta) version of Codeva allows you to access to the Jahia WebDAV file repository. So file uploaded through the webapp are then also available afterwards in Jahia through the standard Jahia file engine.

Regarding the indexation of the files, this only occurs when the file is mapped to a Jahia page (=appears in a Jahia page). Jahia currently does not automatically index all the files in the WebDAV repository if they are not used on a page (directly through Jahia of course, not through a portlet view). This is something we will add for Jahia 4.5.

I can upload and access files just fine with the jahia filemanager.
However, I cannot get it to
display file folders.  The filemanager webapp does this and the codeva
webdav filemanager
also does it.   The reason why I can't just use these alternatives is that
indexing/searching only works for
the Jahia file manager.   No references to this in the documentation or
previous postings so any suggestion
would be appreciated.
