I would suggest to have JkMount lines above the rewriting rules in
httpd.conf
I have also had trouble, but not sure I eventually made it work

jk connector? Did
you compile it from
http://jakarta.apache.org/site/downloads/downloads_tomcat-connectors.cgi
sources?
Then how do you load the module in apache?
