5.5 is a very different relase... but this should work pretty well on 5.0. As Serge mentionned, we packaged Jahia 4.0 and 4.1 with the Tomcat 4.x series. So most of the tests + feedbacks was reported on Tomcat 4.x. Now some developers already used Tomcat 5.0 in order to develop Jahia 4.1... So it should work (with perhaps some jar to move around and so on due to some Tomcat repackaging)...

Our policy is generally not to change a major Tomcat version when updating a stable branch. 5.5.9 is VERY different from 4.1.31 so we decided that only newer branches of Jahia would be tested against it.

That of course is our policy designed for support, but doesn't mean you can't get it to work, but as even the developers of Jahia haven't tested it you're taking a risk :)

Between now and end of the year according to tests, stability and so on...

But you may already use Jahia 4 on a Tomcat 5.0... This should already work (even if not packaged by default).
