According to section 4.1 in https://www.jahia.net/jahia/webdav/site/jahia_net/shared/Documentation/Jahia5EndUserGuide.pdf it should be possible to search all uploaded files and not just the ones placed on pages. I know I can index files when they are placed on pages, but that's not what I'm trying to do here.
