Cool. That worked. I moved the files that were in vendor/rails. Then ran the
wiki. It DID get past the 'unknown web' issue now. After that. I moved those
files back into the vendor directory. and it's fine. What would be causing
that?

It's up and running though.

fine without any sqlite-gem since it is packed with the instiki
release. current versions of sqlite makes problems with instiki 0.11 -
at least on osx, couldn't test on linux yet.
if you still encounter these problems, you should maybe upgrade to the
current edge version of instiki or wait until 0.12 comes out. another
thing you could try: what happens if you delete the vendor/rails
directory and run instiki from your rails installation?
