Hello, At University Politehnica of Bucharest we have a project building a TCP proxy protocol that is meant as an upgrade to SOCKS to leverage some benefits at the transport layer that came after SOCKSv5 such as TCP fastopen, and multipath TCP. The current design targets the following advantages:
1. Reduced RTTs compared to SOCKSv5; 2. Can leverage TFO on the client-proxy and/or proxy-server leg; 3. Enhances MPTCP proxy assisted deployment, can achieve 0-RTT authentication; Our prototype is coming along nicely and will hopefully be deployed at Orange Romania next year, but we are interested in standardizing it too. The last SOCKSv5 protocol(RFC1928) was standardized 20 years ago in the "Network Working Group", is INTAREA WG the right venue to discuss this? Any suggestion is appreciated. -- Dragoș _______________________________________________ Int-area mailing list [email protected] https://www.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/int-area
