This document discusses several aspects of such parameters and their use in IETF protocols, specifies IANA considerations for assignment of points under the IANA OUI (Organizationally Unique Identifier), and provides some values for use in documentation. This document obsoletes RFC 7042. Working Group Summary The mailing list archives shows that even if the number of emails in support of the last call is not huge there were no objections in moving this document forward. During the meetings there was a general support for this document and the need to update RFC 7042 (which this document actually obsoletes). The responsible AD, Eric Vyncke, was (and still is) not comfortable of having a CBOR encoding section in this document describing mainly code points. But, there was no opposition on this inclusion even after an email sent to INTAREA & CBOR WG and ADs, so let it be.
