Of course you can!!!!

For example my nx7300
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/12614_div/12614_div.HTML

Look at the section Stadard Features - you can install all of those
CPUs - you're limited only by the socket - in this case socket M - so
I can't install new meroms, only the old ones.

Hello Espionage724

Ad 1. What makes is better - "illegibly, illegibly" it gives better
FPS - I did not see any benchmarks yet, i have only benchmarked the
first moded driver by Rabbit and it gave my 100 more points in
3dmakr06 (I'm on vista) - the problem is not what makes it better but
what makes it worse sometimes - it breaks OpenGL in some cases and
other minor (or major) issues

Ad 2. In case of new games setting them to HW would result in poor
performance or lack of performence (f.E. Splinter Cell Chaos Theory
doesn't run with HW) On the other side older games (Max Pain) are said
to run better on HW - one just has to try it out.

Ad 3. I didn't have that problem, are you using MAD_BEASTs driver?

Ad 4. I think it would - check youtube for videos of macbooks with gma
950 running quake 4 just fine - and they have 2,16 or 2,4 CPUs - so I
guess it will run better if you upgrade from 1,6 to 2,2 But...... Macs
are different f.E. - they offer more OpenGL extensions on the same
hardware then windows does - they propably do it with software but if
they can, why can't we have it?

Ad 5. Well that is a bad assumption - that you would run Crysis with
"decent" FPS on this hardware - if you want a slidshow or playing in
low res - feel free to experiment. About GH3 - i've heard that is
realllly badly written and it requires a good rig (things are better
now after applying the patch) but it' still strang since it is not
really hi q graphics. If you want an alternative try Frets on Fire -
JURGEN RULEZ!!!!

Ad 6. I can compare 2 laptops that I have a dv2000t with gma 945 and
nx7300 with gma 945 - I've looked vbioses of those and i have compared
them - there are differences. My nx7300 has a newer bios compilation
but it doesn't come with new capabilities.

I guess you can exchange the bios and flash it - if you have a WPH
Phoenix Bios you can ^^find^^ Phonix Bios Editor, load you WPH bios
and exchange vbios (i guess it was called oprom2.bin or smth) with the
one extracted from a different board but...... YOU SHOULD BE SHURE
THAT YOU LAPTOP IS CAPABLE OF RESCUING WITH Crisis Recovery Disk - i
would have done it a long time ago but my laptop uses a different bios
flasher and I don't want to brick it.

If you are interested in Phonix Bios Hacking google it up or go to
Wimsbios

I now that this is more of a rant then an answer but I'm an the verge
of buyin a next gen console - I don't want to play around wit drivers
anymore - I don't want to run games in low res and with 15 fps - I
think their creators wouldn't like us to do it, to impair their
creation.

GMA 950 will be goud for all the classics that I have missesed (Thief
1,2,3, Hitman Saga, BG saga, Tony Hawk Pro Skater, Mafia, and many,
many more) it is also enough for some future games like QuakeLive and
BF Heroes.

I'm just asking myself - do i want to spend 160 or more bucks on a
better CPU, or to spend it on x360 (which is 199$ in US now)
