Hi,
i copy a post of a Thread in another Forum. Its about the Settings
from Intel Graphic Cards. If you use this, maybe you have better
performance:

actually remembered the GMA option panel earlier in the day but had no
way to test it away from my computer... it wasn't big on my mind
because I disabled the annoying little icon in the control panel. As
far as I can Google, those options do the following:

Asynchronous Flip: Disables Vsync (maybe better fps). Not sure if its
specifically for OpenGL, but thats what was mentioned on the Intel
site. I'll try it.
Driver Memory Footprint: Should increase performance if I set this to
high, lets drivers have more memory (apparently the GMA too, and I
have 3GB of RAM, so shouldn't be a problem)
Force FXT1 Texture Compression: Should make textures more distinct.
Maybe performance increase... makes textures smaller, but I read that
it was mainly for 3DFX cards. Also read that it should be left off for
best performance.
Force S3TC Texture Compression: Should make textures more distinct.
Maybe performance increase... makes textures smaller, but I read that
it should be left off for best performance. Might try this. Read more
about the two here: http://www.digit-life.com/articles/reviews3tcfxt1/
Anisotropic Filtering: Should be left off for best performance. Makes
stuff look better, so thats pretty obvious.
Texture Color Depth: Should be left to Desktop Color Depth. Can't
think of a reason not to.
Flipping Policy:Apparently another OpenGL thing. Leave it at Flip.
Triple Buffering: Should be left to Default or Off, can affect input
lag.

I also noticed the "Power Settings" button in the panel, set the
slider THERE to Disable Power Savings. I already had my laptop on High
Performance, maybe this will help a little too.

Edit: Okay, these settings do appear to make the game run better,
anywhere that there isn't smoke or particle effects. Now if only there
was a way I could disable/remove those.
