Has anyone tried running any games that require the modded driver in W7 with just the stock Microsoft provided driver?
Also I'd say WoW gives me the same slow FPS as vista (20FPS and lower) but has managed to get into 30's sometimes which vista hasn't. So I do say W7 is faster but you won't notice it in some games I guess. In order for me to use Portal, I had to add the -dxlevel 81 switch. If it was in -dxlevel 90, it would BSoD me. You can use the DirectX updater on W7. I had to even for Flatout 2 (it couldn't find a specific DLL file) Quake III Arena works great Daemon Tools does not work in W7. Not related to graphics but is related to how some people install certain games. You can use Virtual CD (something from slyfox I believe) its free and works (after reboot) Xfire works but you must type /forceupdate to a friend and restart Xfire IE8 was slow and crashed a lot the first few times I tried to load it. Works great now. I hear theres a MP3 bug in W7 but can be fixed with some patch that MS released. It may be in Windows Update? You can use most Windows Vista drivers in W7 but some drivers may need compatibility mode (including some older series 4 drivers) You can get a CD key for W7 Beta from MS for the next 2 weeks even if the key limit exceeds 2.5mill Do not install the latest series 4 or 965 driver with device id mod.
