Hello guys. My name is Diego Oliveira, also known as Aphelios (My main
nickname). I sent an email to Jose / Mad_Beast last night asking for
help, and he quickly responded. Here's how it went:

---------------------------------------------

Hello, Mad_Beast / Josepippo. I'm glad I can contact you, since I'm
having a bit of trouble here. As you may suppose, my video card is
Intel 945 express chipset family, which doesn't allow me to play some
games from Valve due to random crashes.

I've tried a thousand differents ways to overcome this bug. It's been
a week since I've installed the game Portal, and every single day I
search for some solution, but none of them seem to work. Two days ago
I saw your posts about the modded driver you've created, which seems
to be the perfect solution for the problems that Intel cards users are
experiencing. That's really very, very useful.

So there's the problem: I've downloaded the driver from the site
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2991&OSFullName=Windows*+XP+Professional&lang=eng&strOSs=44&submit=Go!
(The second item), and the igxp32.inf file. During the installation of
the driver, it said: "Your system does not have the minimum
requirements to install this software". So the last two days I was
searching for some solution about that. The first one I've tried was
looking for the folder which the extracted files from the setup would
be put, so then I should change the inf file there with the one I've
downloaded, and then the installation should proceed, right? That
doesn't seem to work, since the folder can't be found on the system.
The second one was to search for a folder called Graphics, but it
doesn't seem to exist too, for some reason :P

About my system:

Motherboard: 945GZM-S2
Memory: 2GB DDR2
Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual

I would really, really appreciate if you could reply this email, I'm
totally desperate. Thank you very much for the attention. See you o/

I was really caught in surprise when I saw the email at my inbox just
a few hours after I've sent it. I though: Yay! This problem has a
solution!

So, as Jose said, I joined this group, and downloaded the Modded
Driver from KinGPin, the version 1.2. The installation was pretty
easy, everything occurred naturally. Then I went to play the game, and
the very same crash (After the first portal open), happened.

I saw there was another version for the driver, a more 'up-to-date'
one. "Ver. 6.14.10.5016 (aka v1.4final & v1.0_64)(added OpenGL
Support)". I installed it, played the game, and yes, the same problem
occurred. PS: At both tries, I restarted the pc after the installation
was complete :>

Since Jose made it clear: "all of ur problems have been solved in that
group :) believe me", I can't do anything but ask for help here. I'm
tottally immersed in solving this, and your help is VERY appreciated.

Thank you guys for the attention. :D
