ok im not trying to advertise or anything so do not look at anything i
say as advertising. but i am a small business owner, and my business
specializes in computers. but in the windows 7 RC 7100. all of these
extra features will be in the windows updates. when you download
the .iso it is just the os without the extras. the xp emulator has
been released but to the best of my knowledge it is only available to
oem's at the moment. but do not get your hopes up on the xp emulator
though because it is not meant for gaming. i have read posts on forums
by people who downloaded it (use imagination) that have high end
graphics cards and it does not even acknowledge them. the most they
are able to do is play solitaire. windows 7 does include the beta
directx 11. and in windows update there is all current intel drivers
for win7. if you do have issues with any old drivers run them in vista
compatibility mode. as far as speed the 7100RC does not have the speed
that the 7077 had. that version i am sorry to say trampled on all
previous windows versions. but it was a bit on the buggy side. as far
as uac goes it can be turned off completely and you will not get the
balloons popping up all the time saying it is turned off. but one of
the best features is with internet explorer. when it says it is not
responding, it now self recovers without having to close, it even
gives you a message saying just that. it also includes its own
backwards compatibility so you can view sites that were designed for
earlier versions of the browser. comes in handy for me because i do a
lot of web design.

for anyone whe does not know what to do when downloading win7.
1. download windows 7 from microsoft.
2. get a key from microsoft for which ever version you got like 32bit
or 64bit.(if you have more than 4gb ram then get the 64 bit version)
3. if you do not know what a .iso file is chances are you are going to
just burn it to a disk an wine that it does not work. so to make this
simple i suggest getting a program like power iso or ultra iso. you
can get these as trials from there websites. install and a reboot may
be required.
4. you can open the windows 7.iso with your iso program. (i stay away
from nero, there is a 40% chance that it is ever successful)
5. have a blank dvd in your burner and in your iso program click on
burn image.
6. you should now have a screen that gives you a few options, make
sure dvd is checked and burn at the slowest speed available.
7. make sure you have your new serial/key written down
8. make sure to back up everything you want to keep onto disk or
external hdd
now for the install

1. reboot your pc.
2. at the first loading screen you need to press whichever button it
is for your system that will bring up a load from screen (on my laptop
it is f12)
3. load from cd/dvd drive, or whichever drive you have the disk in.
4. you should now get a screen that says to load from disk press any
key. (if you have made it this far i can assume you are not homer
simpson and need to explain there is no such thing as the "any" key on
your keyboard.
5. after it loads all necessary files it will ask you if you want to
upgrade or clean install, well since this is still technically a beta
release of win7 the upgrade does not work very well with little
success rate. so you are going to do a clean install. if you have
multiple partitions on your drive this is where you need to decide if
you are going to dual boot or not.
6. you should now be at a screen that shows all partitions, and is
asking where to install your new operating system to. if you plan on
dual booting make sure to select the partition you do not have any
previous version of windows on.
7. make sure you format the location you are installing to first
otherwise you will notice it to be very slow until you run a few
defrags.
8. click on next and watch it install.
9. when it asks for a key type in the number that you have written
down.
10. it might take a while for everything to install, for me it took
less than 10 min.
11. after win 7 is at the main desktop screen one of the first things
you want to do is activate it, you need to go to control panel, system
and security, then system. at the bottom of the screen it will say you
have 3 days to activate windows or click here to do it now. you want
to do it now, after the process finishes go to windows update, let it
do a scan, and it will give you a nice list of updated drivers to
download.

note more than likely you will need to download many drivers on your
own for gaming cards and what ever else. you can check what you need
by looking at device manager.

also i have noticed that win7 does not like to install properly on
dell laptops.
if you have any more questions or troubleshooting issues feel free to
email me.
