well i have a new laptop for business...and a ton of gaming. i just
received my new alienware M17x today. i had a few customizations done
to it, the specs are,

windows vista home premium 64bit w/sp1
intel core 2 extreme quad qx9300 2.53ghz (12mb cache, 1066mhz fsb)
(pre overclocked, benchmark shows it at 2.91ghz)
dual nvidia geforce gtx 280m 2gb - sli enabled
17 inch wide xga+ 1440x900 (900p)
8gb dual channel ddr3 at 1333mhz
500gb 7,200rpm raid 1

3dmark score: 15391
sm2.0 score: 6230
hdr/sm3.0 score: 6595
cpu score: 2566

this thing has some serious horsepower. it has 3 separate gpu's, the 2
nvidia gtx280m gpu's can be turned off to save on power. i have a
clock of 79fps for crysis warhead on high settings. 113fps for
battlefield 2, and call of duty 4 runs flawlessly at max settings with
102fps. this thing is insane. what is really cool about this though
is it has facial recognition so if my wife were to sit down in front
of it it will automatically switch over to her account. the only down
side of this laptop though is it gets hot very fast. so i had to buy a
cooling pad for it. i guess thats what you get for buying a system
that is pre overclocked.

i dont know if anyone here has any experience with alienware's but i
want to remove vista and put on win7 but before i do i need to know if
it will even install and how hard it will be to get the alienware
utilities and drivers installed.
