I wrote this some months ago... hope it helps as it's the only workaround I've found to make the game run.
"Well, due to the lack of response and my strong wish to play Perseus Mandate I tried with swift shader 2.01 trial edition, which made it work... like a slide-show. Anyway I passed the ominous intro and entered the mission, closed the game, then switched to 3dA (force SWTnL, emulate HW TnL and counters), and it's been running nicely for about 2 hours with no crash or so... I think that in-game story cinematics are the cause of the crashes, and if so all can be fixed with the tedious yet easy Swift Shader - 3dA switching." No crashes after the intro.
