hmm, have u use the v1.2 modded by KingPin??
and what is ur system spec??

there are several cause of ur problem.
-assuming u have 1 gb,it can run smoothly but some times it (the lag)
was not cause by GMA but cause by axcessive hard driver access. make
sure ur page file does not exceed 50% of ur ram for optimum
performance, even if u need extra resource,it should not exceed 100%
of ur ram.

-2nd, if the performance drops are confirm cause by GMA, u should
lower ur resolution if u want to keep the special effects on high. XP
driver cant render pixel shader and emulate TnL very well, not as good
as vista/win7 ones. btw, v1.2 should have no problem with this.

-3rd,try and defrag ur hard drive. as said earlier, if ur hard drive
been axcess alot, defragmentation of ur hard drive can cause slow
downs even with older games as the data are hard to reach. this is
often for users with HD 80gb and above. *note that NTFS file system
are a bit slower that FAT.*

i dont really know what the cause is, but try and do what i mention
above and see the difference. although GMA are suck at running games,
it can manage run most mmofps smoothly as for example, Blackshot,
Sudden Death and etc. good luck ^^
