Well, I ran swiftshader on a netbook... once. The Atom chipset just cannot do it. Even with a semi decent 9300gs, it cannot really game.
Besides, I once remember 256mb Ram, 8mb video ram (ati rage!!!) as being "extreme". This was just after I got my 800mhz P-3. 133mhz fsb, cd-rw, 20+10 gb hard drives. 256 mb ram barely got me running xp smoothly. Now, even my cell phone comes with a nVidia chip inside. The laptop I am typing on has 3gb ram and 2 cores. The xbox (that I love) has 10mb ram (though... that is configured like a giant L1/2 cache). My pda comes with more memory then my first laptop (windows mobile ram is different...) I can get 6 hours of battery life from my laptop. That's 4 more hours than my flashlight. Turns out, every dell latitude from 2005 on has a gigabit ethernet port. And I have extreme nostalgia for Windows XP's look and feel. I really miss it. Windows 7 may be cool, really good at multitasking and all, but it just doesn't have that homely feel Windows XP had. I need to goto sleep before I really lose it. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "INTEL 9XX Gaming" group.
