Hello everyone ! In order to help the 9xx teams, I'm posting a Software/Hardware Vertex change for Dummies!!! It can't get more simple than that, and you don't need MD's to apply this!
Requirements : Intel x3100 Chipset Basic .reg files : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=GTBKP8WX How-to Use : Most old games will run better with software vertex ( new games too ) with some exceptions ( World of Warcraft is one ). You will find in the file mentionned above .reg files to turn the vertex in software or Hardware mode. Software mode : Open Template ( Soft. On ).reg with Notepad/Wordpad, change the 6 lines ~GAME EXE.exe with your Game exe. I.E : "~GAME EXE.exe"=dword:00000001 changed to "~UT2004.exe"=dword: 00000001 Hardware mode : Open Template ( Soft. Off ).reg with Notepad/Wordpad, change the 6 lines ~GAME EXE.exe with your Game exe. I.E : "~GAME EXE.exe"=dword:00000000 changed to "~UT2004.exe"=dword: 00000000 By default ( with latest official drivers ), these following games will run with software vertex : ~3DMark03.exe ~3DMark05.exe ~3DMark06.exe ~age3.exe ~BF2.exe ~BF2142.exe ~cod2sp_s.exe ~cod2mp_s.exe ~dreamfall.exe ~farcry.exe ~FEAR.exe ~GRAW.exe ~gta_sa.exe ~H5_GAME.exe ~hl2.exe ~IW3SP.exe ~MAINAPP.exe ~medieval2.exe ~PCMark05.exe ~RelicCOH.exe ~Sam2.exe ~UT2004.exe ~WoW.exe XR_3DA.exe BE AWARE THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO TEST YOURSELF IF EITHER HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE WORKS THE BEST FOR YOUR GAME. AS I EXPERIENCE , WOW IS RUNNING BETTER WITH HARDWARE , THEREFORE THE INTEL DEFAULT SETTINGS ARE WRONG!!
