all of the actual configuration data is within .big files, unlike working with many .pak files where you can just use winrar or 7z to open them, these you need an actual .big editor. so you will have to extract the data within each .big on kanes wrath if you just have retail version you would need to goto Core > 1.0 what makes this game so hard to edit though is there is references to everything everywhere. that is why there is not that many mods for it.
