I don't upgrade my cpu because it's a laptop. It's around 4 years old and the motherboards on laptops are really picky about what you stick in it.
It would be too expensive anyway. I have a desktop that I built in late 2007 that can play just about any game at max settings but I have to repair it so at the moment I am using my laptop. I try not to upgrade unless I really need it. Like how I am skipping the GTX 400 series and waiting for the 500 series.
