I couldn't find a thread about Alpha 2 so I'll post a new one.

Thanks very much to you guys for keeping the group and drivers going.
I hadn't realized new drivers would be released and have been using
v1.0 and v1.1 x64 for a long time, on Vista and Win 7. I would like to
mention how the Alpha 2 drivers work for me after doing several
benchmarks in a game yesterday.

I mainly play Company of Heroes and v1.0/v1.1 greatly improved the
performance enough for multiplayer 3v3 games. Alas, my friends like to
play 4v4 which always leads to poor fps in the mid to late game. It
can be so bad that I became discouraged to play with them. I hoped
that the Alpha 2 drivers could tie me over until I stopped pushing the
building of a new PC.

The results of the benchmarks are that they are the same under Alpha 2
or v1.1. Here are the numbers (average / max / min) from running the
CoH performance test. Drivers and registry files installed properly
and 3D settings the same:

v1.1: 37.3 / 82.1 / 11.6
35.5 / 80.0 / 11.8
36.3 / 87.0 / 10.7
37.1 / 84.0 / 11.7
Alpha 2: 36.6 / 82.0 / 11.4
36.6 / 81.0 / 11.5
37.1 / 85.6 / 11.6
36.9 / 84.0 / 11.7

As you can see, the averages are similar and the range is generally
smaller for Alpha 2 but only by about 1 fps. I've yet to play a 4v4
again so perhaps the in-game experience is still improved.

Anyway, just posting my results and am not disappointed. Without the
modded drivers, CoH would not be possible at all! I wonder still, is
the new version meant to benefit newer games?

Thanks and best regards.
