I also suspect us to be targeted somehow, but I don't want to raise
doubt.
For some time, laptops have two gpus, a weaker (usually intel)
integrated one and a discreet solution to play games, hd, etc. These
two gpus could be selected through a physical switch, which now with
windows 7 and nvidia optimus technology is changed on the fly by
software. Specially since it came when vista appeared, drivers had to
change and became as one since vista didn't allow multiple graphics
drivers installed, and that's how hybrid drivers appeared. Power
saving mode is a fancy way of saying that when switching from a real
gpu, like any nvidia, to an intel that automatically draws less power,
hence the power saving.
I don't think he would ask for money because if he was to do that he
would already have done it at their forum.
