Seriously, a stable GDI/2D is a godsend :)
But which versions of OpenGL are actually fully supported? I ask
because V1.1 fully supported up to 1.4, just like stock. Because that
actually is quite important, not just for games.

About 2D games, at least those you mentioned, I never had any stutter
in World Of Goo, but in Braid I played it at 12-14 fps, on very rare
areas going to 18 while others dropped to 10fps. And this with
postprocessing turned off, which takes quite a lot of its beauty :S

And my chipset gave me problems in the past, no idea if it's because
it only has one entrance on the inf, but I remember that when I had
vista, it showed 2 display adapters in the device manager. It seems
there were some devices left out, and since my 945GME is an embedded
chipset, present on both laptops and netbooks, it does concern me
quite a bit. Btw, and just as a reminder, my device ID is 27AE.
Unfortunately I can't remember the device ID for that 945GSE chipset :
